Our Hinge Manufacturing Capabilities
In-house toolroom
Our in-house toolroom enables us to make specific tools for your hinge. Therefore, even the most difficult elements to a bespoke hinge can be achieved, with a tool made especially for the job in hand. We also offer subcontracting for toolmaking and wire eroding. Presswork Facility
With a press capacity of up to 160 tons, Gold & Wassall have the capacity to produce presswork of all shapes and sizes. We offer a manufacturing service for specialist presswork, for all materials. Single operation and multi-stage tooling is planned and manufactured in our own toolroom.
Press brake capacity of 50 tons is available, in lengths up to 2500mm long and up to 4mm thick material.
Wire Eroding
We have recently invested in a brand new wire eroder. Essential to our tool making and in-house engineering facility, the wire eroder also helps us produce samples of complex hinges.
We offer a sub contract wire eroding for any application, please get in touch if this is something you are interested in.

Rolled Pieces
We can roll plates in any material up to 6mm thick, with any inside roll diameter. Rolled pieces can be cranked, drilled and finished as per any other hinge.
Automatic Machinery
Our automatic section contains 8 lines of automated machines, allowing us to make hinges quicker and to almost any length. We have special tooling for these machines which can complete multiple operations in each press.
INTERESTING FACT:
The Great Exhibition was held
in London’s Crystal Palace in 1851, this was the first World’s Fair, showcasing the fruits of the Industrial Revolution. We don't think we attended but there were plenty of doors and windows so who knows...
